7 WWE Wrestlers That Reinvented Themselves In 2016

1. Chris Jericho

When analyzing the current landscape of WWE, it's hard to argue that anyone is as over as Chris Jericho's clipboard, better known as "The List." Yes, a piece of paper receives better reactions than a majority of the Raw roster. And Jericho is 100 percent to thank for that.

Jericho has had a knack for reinventing himself over the course of his career, and had he never moved on from his Y2J persona in 1999, there's a good chance he wouldn't be around today. The best runs of his career have come after he has switched up his shtick, and 2016 has been no exception.

After playing the babyface for nearly four years, Jericho went rogue during his feud with AJ Styles. The subtle teases at him turning heel throughout late 2015 and early 2016 ended up being worthwhile after all, and he was a fantastic foil for Styles and Dean Ambrose during his respective rivalries with them.

But once he really started settling into his new role, Jericho went all out in embracing his heel persona. He ditched the light-up jacket for vests and scarves and coined the catchphrases "Stupid idiot!" and "Drink it in, man!" Heck, he even managed to get the word "it" over. That takes talent.

No one knows for sure when Jericho will be leaving again to tour with Fozzy, but for the fans' sake, let us hope it isn't any time soon.
