7 WWE Wrestlers That Reinvented Themselves In 2016

2. The Miz

This year marks a decade since The Miz became a full-time wrestler on the SmackDown brand after winning the "Million Dollar" season of Tough Enough, and he has virtually accomplished almost everything one can do in WWE. From holding every active title in the company to headlining WrestleMania, it appeared The Awesome One had peaked in 2011 and digressed in the years that followed.

It was apparent back in 2014 that Miz's Hollywood character, albeit entertaining, would never get him beyond a midcard level. However, through his phenomenal work as Intercontinental champion this year with his voluptuous wife Maryse by his side, he has proven himself worthy of competing at the main event level again at some point.

His Talking Smack tirade alone in late August was enough for him to turn heads, with his segments and remarkable matches with Dolph Ziggler this past fall being the icing on the cake. He recently regained the prestigious prize for a sixth time on the 900th episode of SmackDown Live, but once his latest run with the strap is over with, it would be wise of WWE to give him one last run in the world title picture, preferably on the blue brand. It's well-deserved if this year has been any indication.
