Nobody in WWE was hotter during the latter part of 2013 than Daniel Bryan. Fans gravitated to the guy because of his natural likability, genuine personality and frankly stunning ability between the ropes. WWE may not have thought so, but people believed Bryan to be a worthy headliner. Naturally, the creative team tried to sidestep this organic phenomenon.

Instead of running with Bryan's fanfare, WWE inserted The Big Show as Randy Orton's main challenger for the WWE Title. Joining Daniel's crusade against Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and the rest of The Authority, Show even found time to scoop Bryan's 'Yes' chants right up in his giant hands and start using them for himself at Survivor Series.

Show was never a realistic winner against Orton, and fans found themselves wishing that Bryan was the one in the match opposite Randy. This was just another attempt by WWE to prolong their own agony, because fans would not be denied their wish of turning Bryan from workhorse mid carder into full-on main event player.
