8 Best Moments Of WWE's PG Era

3. The Shield Vs The Wyatt Family - Elimination Chamber PPV - February 23rd 2014

'This Is Awesome! This Is Awesome! This Is Awesome!' The above is a popular chant that wrestling crowds in arena's all over the world give to matches that go above and beyond, the contests that excite and amaze us and generate that emotion that is at the core of professional wrestling. However, the chant usually starts during a match, once the crowd has been sucked into the encounter and wants to show their appreciation. For The Wyatt Family vs The Shield at Elimination Chamber PPV in February of this year, the chant started up BEFORE the match had even started! The two groups were simply squaring off and posturing in the ring before the bell rang, but the crowd was in such a fever-pitch of excitement for the match that they had to begin the chant early. We think that's pretty cool and is undoubtedly one of the best moments of the PG Era. The Wyatt's vs The Shield is a perfect example of the amazing potential of pro-wrestling. Before the debuts of both three-man groups, their members were all virtual unknowns, at least to the WWE Universe. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper had extensive experience in independent circles, while Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Roman Reigns were all products of WWE's Developmental system. But to the mainstream WWE audience, this doesn't mean much, so it is a testament to the strength of each performer that they made their respective group's so very successful. The match then completely lived up to it's lofty expectations, as the six men delivered a dynamic and intense spectacle that we reckon still stands as 2014 Match Of The Year.
