8 Best WWE Heel Turns (Where The Wrestler Changed Nothing)

4. Seth Rollins

For Seth Rollins, he turned himself heel without even realising it.

Sure, Rollins had previously towed the company line and never been afraid of speaking out to defend both WWE and his own spot as one of the very best wrestlers in the world, but the former Architect of The Shield shot himself in the foot with his own social media presence last year.

Despite toppling Brock Lesnar to become WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania 35 - not to mention likewise defeating Paul Heyman's Beast to reclaim that title at last year's SummerSlam - the crowd had already turned on Rollins way, way before his official heel turn.

Truth be told, many fans soured on Seth the moment he engaged in a Twitter war last June with Will Ospreay that resulted in the WWE star bringing up his hefty bank balance. That low blow from Rollins was soon followed by arenas filling up with boos for the multiple-time World Champion, and every promo that Seth cut was met with an ever-increasing negative reaction.

As someone who was in attendance for WWE's November 2019 pre-recorded taping of Raw from the Manchester Arena, Rollins was absolutely sh*t on by fans. Yet by the time that episode of Raw made it to TV, cheers aplenty were piped in for the Kingslayer.

It would take until December for WWE to finally pull the trigger and officially turn Seth Rollins heel, yet that heel turn had already taken place six months prior - it's just that WWE and Rollins refused to acknowledge it, and character-wise nothing changed until Seth joined with the AOP at the end of the year.
