8 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE No Mercy 2017

6. A One-Match Card

There isn't much to look forward to on No Mercy's card from a pure workrate perspective.

Neville, one of the company's finest workers, is paired with a dud in Enzo Amore. John Cena and Roman Reigns are excellent on their day, but both have bad matches in them, and their bout's quality is a real coin flip. Rollins and Ambrose vs. Sheamus and Cesaro should be great, but Raw's Tag Title bouts have largely under-delivered in 2017, and while the Women's Championship match is stuffed with great wrestlers, WWE's multi-person matches usually devolve into disarray.

The card does have potential, but there's a strong chance we could be looking at a one-match show. There's no way Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman won't be awesome, but will fans be as enthusiastic as they should be if they're made to sit through two-and-a-half hours of disappointment to get there?

If we're lucky, each undercard match will live up to its potential, and we'll be left with a consistent, balanced event, but 2017 hasn't been a strong year for WWE PPVs. Recent form suggests the show will probably go off the rails at some point, and if it does, the march towards the main event could become a slog.
