8 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE No Mercy 2017

5. Bray Vs. Bálor Getting Buried In Nonsense

There wasn't much to Bray Wyatt's clash with 'The Demon' Finn Bálor at SummerSlam. 'The Eater Of Worlds' looked like a nervy child for letting himself get shaken by the Irishman's fancy facepaint, and the action provided little to get excited about, with Bálor taking the win after 11 plodding, heat-less minutes.

Their lack of palpable in-ring chemistry is a concern, but while there's a strong chance their rematch will be a bland, lifeless affair, it's a secondary concern. There isn't another Raw combination with a higher chance of descending into complete and utter nonsense than 'The Demon' and 'The New Face Of Fear,' and while Wyatt's awful feud with Randy Orton will take some beating, we could have another WrestleMania 33 situation on our hands.

WWE have to do something to raise the stakes here. Bálor has already played his strongest card by facing Bray as 'The Demon,' but his opponent still has a bag full of hokey supernatural tricks to dive into, and that's worrisome. Wyatt is a cartoon goofball: his "powers" are largely to blame for this, and projecting maggots onto the apron or summoning a holographic child at No Mercy will only diminish him further.
