8 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Survivor Series 2017
6. The Runtime Conundrum
It's hard to predict how long this year's Survivor Series will run. There are just seven matches on the main card, but the traditional 5-on-5 elimination bouts often come close to the 60-minute mark, and there's talk WWE could stretch the pay-per-view section out for as long as five hours.
This is absurdly lengthy, particularly for those outwith American timezones. British viewers would be forced to stay up to 6am to watch live, but even those living in more favourable areas will struggle to keep focused for that long. It'll be a tiring, gruelling slog, and while the lineup promises plenty of action, the audience's attention will inevitably drift away at various points.
Unfortunately, the other option is just as problematic. If WWE decide not to run a marathon, they'll be faced with the task of cutting time from several potential 'Match Of The Night' candidates, including The Bar vs. The Usos, which might be the most promising bout on the card from a workrate perspective. This'll leave just as many fans disappointing, making the timing issue a huge quandary for WWE to overcome ahead of Sunday night.
