8 Blade-Jobs That Would Cost Superstars Their Job In Today's WWE

6. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart - Submission Match - WrestleMania 13

Sometimes when I lament about the lack of blood in WWE, a person will ask me why it matters. All I have to do is mention this match, the bout that launched one of, if not the biggest career in pro-wrestling history. A match I believe would not have had the impact it did if Stone Cold were not busted open for the majority of it. Fresh after winning the King of Ring, and introducing us all to the Book of Austin, Stone Cold was officially on his way. As Flair once said, "to be the man, you have to beat the man", and Stone Cold wanted the head of one man, a Hitman, to be exact. Calling Bret out during his hiatus after WrestleMania 12, Hart would eventually return and answer the call. After a classic at Survivor Series, and Hart being screwed over at the 1997 Rumble via Stone Cold, the table was set for the Submission Match at WrestleMania 13.
This match is career making, and often considered the greatest WrestleMania match of all time. The hate these two have for one another pours out all over the place in this match, giving us something reserved for the NWA in the 1980s. Both men brought their absolute best here, as they beat each other with any & everything available, successfully trading each others status as babyface & heel. Finally, the image of Stone Cold screaming in defiant pain as blood cascaded down his face, forming a pool for him to soon pass out in, is one of the greatest moments in wrestling. Not the goriest blade job, but pitch perfect in it's placement with the match.

Caliber Winfield is more legend. Despite making up every rumor himself, they're all true. He's so manly he has to shave his eyeballs, and he was mistaken for The Rock as well as Ryan Gosling in the same day, both men said it was the greatest day of their life when they heard the news.
