8 Blade-Jobs That Would Cost Superstars Their Job In Today's WWE
5. Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels - SummerSlam 2005
The Legend vs The Icon. SummerSlam 2005's main event was a return, but not just for Hulk Hogan, but for Shawn Michael's as a heel. Not just any heel, but 1997 heel. Originally Shawn wanted the angle to be where he just had to know if he could defeat Hulk Hogan. However, Hulk wanted an old school heel vs face vibe, and even requested 1997 Shawn, which to his credit, Michaels actually turned down at first. People kept saying they wanted it, and that Hulk knows it's all business, but Shawn kept saying no, they don't want that guy around. People got their way eventually, and Shawn came back in all his dickish glory. After tagging with him on Raw, Shawn superkicked Hulk while they were celebrating his victory. He later said he was pissed that Hogan rides a legacy, while Shawn goes out and proves himself night after night. He soon impersonated Hulk in a vignette, and in one of his finest moments, trolled the crowd at Montreal by having them think that Bret had returned. Something everyone needs to see. The match is pretty decent, however. They wanted 1997 Shawn, they sure got him. Annoyed at the fact Hulk was going over, he tried to make him look like an idiot by completely over-selling a number of moves; such as flying & flipping after having his head slammed into the turnbuckle, and running around in a circle and flopping after taking the big boot. Hulk was said to have loved it, however. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A4nDgWgEXo Speaking of Hulk, his blade job was incredible on this night. His blonde hair was dyed completely red, and his chest, arms, head, back, and anything he touched was soaked in blood. Shawn at one point put Hulk in a sleeper and his entire right side was covered. To this day I still state it's Hogan's best blade job, and really played well into the match as well as Shawn's character at that point.
Caliber Winfield is more legend. Despite making up every rumor himself, they're all true. He's so manly he has to shave his eyeballs, and he was mistaken for The Rock as well as Ryan Gosling in the same day, both men said it was the greatest day of their life when they heard the news.
