8 Booking Steps For Goldberg's WWE Return

4. Let KO Shine

In order for a potential Bill Goldberg vs. Kevin Owens feud to succeed, it cannot be one-sided. Their Fastlane “match” was a 23-second shellacking, and while the distraction protected Owens somewhat, he lost a lot of momentum to Goldberg that night. Having the 50-year-old dominate and bully the former Universal Champion would continue this theme, and perpetuate the idea that Owens can’t hang against more celebrated opposition.

Both men should be presented strongly throughout. That doesn’t mean resorting to tiresome 50/50 booking techniques, but it does mean letting Owens get a few licks on Goldberg ahead of the big fight. The company can use KO’s scheming, opportunistic character to great effect in this regard, and have him get one over on Goldberg through sneak attacks, double-crosses, and other nefarious deeds.

There are plenty of booking options that would allow the wrestlers to trade shots before finally meeting in the ring. Whether that be one stealing a pin in a tag match, Owens assaulting Goldberg on the Highlight Reel, or a good old-fashioned verbal sparring session, building and maintaining heat should be easy.
