Braun holds Cena personally responsible for taking him out of the number one contender five-way, and as such a feud between the two begins. Strowman has shown in the past that he is a quick learner in the ring, and his longer matches with relative veterans (in comparison) have come with clear improvements.

The aim of the feud with Cena is less to get Braun over more (nigh on impossible), but to give him more experience working with a major star. The two have a battle at the 2018 Royal Rumble, meaning neither man makes it into the Rumble match itself. The singles match (along with the Rumble) is also big enough to headline a major show, meaning Lesnar is absent once again.

Strowman comes out on top at the Rumble, hitting Cena with a couple of powerslams and picking up the 1-2-3. The Rumble is won by a SmackDown competitor (let’s say AJ Styles), leaving Brock Lesnar without a challenger for WrestleMania 34.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
