8 Burning Questions That Need Answering At WWE Royal Rumble

8. Are The Ascension for Real Or Almost Gone?

When they debuted, the Ascension looked like they were going to be treated as a big deal, knocking off the previous WWE Tag Team Champions. Since then, they have destroyed imported jobbers while the announcers get upset about Konnor and Viktor mocking some great tag teams of yesteryear. Then on Monday night, the New World Order, New Age Outlaws and APA confronted the Ascension and sent them running. Sure, the Ascension was outnumbered seven-to-two, but the image of NXT€™s most dominant tag team being run off by guys who haven€™t competed regularly in years was not a good sign. At the Rumble, the Ascension squares off against the New Age Outlaws, who last were seen jobbing in record time to the Shield at WrestleMania XXX (along with Kane). The question is, is this match an attempt to build heat for the Ascension by having them destroy one of WWE€™s most popular tag teams? Or is this a way to start pushing them out the door but get some mileage out of them? Odds are that this is an effort to get fans to hate the Ascension and take them seriously, but if it doesn€™t work, then we could see them shipped off pretty quickly.
