8 Burning Questions That Need Answering At WWE Royal Rumble
6. Will Someone Get The Diesel Push?
The Diesel Push is a term that applies specifically to the Royal Rumble. At the 1994 Rumble, Diesel was in limbo as a performer. His WCW career was pretty nondescript, and he wasnt setting the world on fire in WWF either. Entering the Rumble at #7, Diesel cleared the ring, then started tossing wrestlers as they entered the ring, amassing seven eliminations. Fans cheered him like crazy, and in November that year, he won the WWF Championship. Scary to think how close Kevin Nash came to being an also-ran. http://youtu.be/_ghkcfrEzbA?t=7m45s Since the 94 Rumble, several other guys have gotten a similar push, tossing a bunch of guys in rapid or dramatic succession to build heat: Steve Austin in 1997, Rikishi in 2000, Kane in 2001 and Roman Reigns in 2014. Will someone be pushed in a similar manner, eliminating five or six wrestlers in rapid succession? Rusev would be someone who could walk into a crowded ring and toss a few guys to clear it out and establish himself. Imagine Luke Harper throwing six guys out in less than two minutes. It might sound crazy, but if you told a fan in 1993 that Diesel would go on to become of the biggest and most powerful wrestlers in the business, the fan would think you got hit with a steel chair.
