8 Celebrities Who Deserve A Spot In The WWE Hall Of Fame
8. Muhammad Ali
When you think of "The Greatest", you naturally think of boxing, but Ali's career also intertwined with professional wrestling several times along the way. And wrestling imprinted heavily on him: he has gone on record to say that all of his mannerisms (including riling up crowds, cutting "heel" promos on opponents and mixing entertainment with his athletics) were learned from watching notorious wrestling heel Gorgeous George on TV as a child. Ali found himself in a wrestling ring on more than one occasion in the 1970's, including the legendary "Boxer vs Wrestler" match with Antonio Inoki in Japan, and even being airplane spinned by WWE Legend Gorilla Monsoon in Pennsylvania. Perhaps most famously, Ali was one of the central celebrity figures in the promotion of the inaugural WrestleMania in Madison Square Garden, helping to officiate the main event as a special guest referee. Ali was "The Louisville Lip" long before Jim Cornette, and he was "The People's Champion" before we ever smelled what The Rock was cookin'. It's time that WWE added one more wrestling-related nickname to Ali's resume: "Hall of Famer". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSJf8v-EFhk
