5. Regis Philbin
In the 80's and 90's, mainstream media typically sneered at wrestling and would cover it only with reluctance. Talk show hosts and TV presenters would greet their wrestling guests with an open disdain at best, or a patronizing condescending tone at worst. Regis Philbin was different: not only did he happily have dozens of wrestling's most colorful characters on his show over the years (including Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Mr Perfect and Ravishing Rick Rude), but he was sure never to treat his guests badly. Regis was always willing to play along and kayfabe with his guests, showing fear around The Undertaker or going along with the bizarre antics of Lanny Poffo. Basically, he laughed with the wrestlers - never at them. Regis was also a special guest at WrestleMania VII, attempting to interview The Undertaker, and later joining Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan at the commentary table to call the main event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJC6xKRCOzI
