8 CM Punk WWE Feuds For His Inevitable Return

2. CM Punk Vs. Seth Rollins

Speaking of Triple H, Punk would be remiss not to set his sights on Triple H's favorite adopted son in order to kill Triple H's legacy once and for all. A feud with Seth Rollins is not just a dream match between two of pro wrestling's best tacticians, but it also continues Punk's rebellion against a dictatorial Authority. Booking Rollins and Punk together for the first time (in a prolonged singles feud) would push both men to their athletic limits, and grant the fans a truly unpredictable feud. Rollins is one of few superstars who can keep pace with Punk in the ring and on the mic, so you know the promos and the matches would be stellar. With Seth Rollins sidelined until spring/summer 2016, WWE creative would have the chance to plant the seeds of a potential 2017 matchup. Creative invested much time and energy to get Rollins to the top of the mountain and they'll certainly want to rechristen him champion when he's fit and ready. For the six or so months preceding a Punk return, Rollins could finish what he started. He could resolve his feud with Brock Lesnar and clear out a couple of new contenders, all while real media rumors float of Punk's next step after his first UFC fight. If Punk did resign with WWE, what better way to reintroduce Punk than as a surprise Rumble entrant? Punk could win a golden ticket to Wrestlemania 33, setting up a superstar showdown with The Architect.
