Here is my absolute favourite statistic, quite possibly ever.

AJ Styles has been one of the most fighting champions the company has seen in, well, forever. 7 defences this year alone, and against 7 different opponents. The man has been on a tear of supremacy and, as such, you have to respect him.

But second only to Styles in terms of most dedicated strap holders and, thus, protected booking, is current SmackDown Live Women’s Champion, Carmella. With no less than three successful defences. Two against Asuka, one against Charlotte.

Every other title holder in the company has mustered no more than two successful defences in the year of our lord 2018. Orton, Rollins, Brock, Roode, Jinder, The Bar, Braun, Nicholas, none of them can boast such dominating reigns as Carmella. I love stats.
