8 Drastic Short-Term Solutions To Solve WWE's Ratings Woes

With record low ratings, it's time for the WWE to take drastic measures to win fans back.

This Monday, WWE Raw ratings fell to a new low of 3.27 million viewers, the worst the show has done since 1997. Viewership has been dropping for a while now, and even though the company won't be shutting up shop any time soon, they're getting perilously close to bringing in under three million viewers a week, something which doesn't bode well for the future of the business. These ratings come at a strange time too, especially with WWE programming getting so much mainstream attention. ESPN has recently decided to start covering the world of sports entertainment (something which could help boost ratings over the coming weeks funnily enough), while SummerSlam got coverage on everywhere from Entertainment Weekly to The Hollywood Reporter thanks to Jon Stewart and Stephen Amell. Why then are they struggling to bring in new and old fans alike to watch the product? It's hard to say for sure, but it's time to explore both that and the big moves Vince McMahon should be making in order to boost ratings in the short-term. These are pretty drastic and would change the landscape of WWE in a significant way, but they're all necessary if the WWE hopes to avoid going the same way as TNA whether it's a year, five years, or a decade from now...
