The Authority has grown stale. Despite being thoroughly entertaining while feuding with Daniel Bryan or when The Game joined back up with Evolution for a spell, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon no longer bring all that much to Raw. It doesn't really help that they flip flop between heel and face status on an almost weekly basis, dancing in the ring one Monday and making the life of a fan-favourite a hell the next. Throw in the baffling way they're treating their heel champion, and some sort of major shake-up is now long overdue. When they were removed from power, a revolving door of General Managers went horribly wrong (the Anonymous Raw GM was dropped after a week following an overwhelmingly negative response from fans), but appointing some sort of fan-favourite to oversee things on a long term basis could work pretty damn well. Whether it's Edge & Christian, Mick Foley, or Stone Cold Steve Austin, a bona fide fan-favourite running things would help to completely transform the show and give the the adrenaline boost it so desperately needs. The Authority has been played out for too long and overstayed its welcome, and a face taking over the place would be another effective way of completely changing the dynamic of WWE programming. It's a minor change in some ways, but anything is worth a try at this point, and this could ultimately make a major difference and draw back some of the viewers the company has lost this year.
