8 Early Predictions For NXT TakeOver: New Orleans

There is every chance that Roderick Strong’s United Kingdom Championship match could take place over WrestleMania weekend, but it’ll also be surprising if WWE waited that long to book the bout. Either way, it would be somewhat surprising if Roddy was able to dethrone The Bruiserweight as the King of Britain.

The success of Pete Dunne’s championship win at TakeOver: Chicago hasn’t seen the UK division progress in the slightest, so the constant calls for the title to receive more high profile defences has largely fallen on deaf ears. The belt will have to make do with another pre-TakeOver match in New Orleans, although there is a good chance it will be defended on other shows over the weekend.

Much has been made of Kassius Ohno’s international pedigree in recent times, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see The Knockout Artist transition into a United Kingdom Championship match. Ohno would also represent another high-profile performer for Dunne to defeat, adding some much needed high-profile credibility to the fledgling title.
