8 Forgotten WWE Superstars You Didn't Realise Were Still Listed On The Main Roster

8. Alex Riley

For many of you who don€™t follow NXT it might surprise you to learn that Alex Riley (remember him?) is still listed on the main roster on WWE.com. Riley first appeared on WWE TV as part of the original NXT format which saw €œRookies€ (i.e. FCW wrestlers) being mentored by current WWE Superstars in a competition to win a WWE contract. Riley€™s mentor was The Miz, with whom formed an alliance for much of his early WWE career. Eventually, Riley would get fed up of The Miz mistreating him and turned on him, allowing him to embark on what ultimately ended up being a fairly unsuccessful singles career. He would then turn his hand to commentating, serving as a regular commentator on both Superstars and NXT, as well as acting as a panellist on both the Raw and Smackdown pre-shows and some pay-per-view ones as well. Earlier this year Riley returned to in-ring competition as a member of the NXT roster and also competed at the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. However, in May WWE.com announced that Riley would be out of action for a while in order to get knee surgery to fix the degenerative arthrosis in his right knee. At 34 years of age there€™s still time for Riley to make it back onto the WWE€™s main roster if he can impress on his return from injury, but up against the other talented wrestlers on the NXT roster it isn€™t going to be an easy task.
