8 Former Midcarders Who Could Returns As WWE Main Eventers In 2016

The injury and star-making crises mean these fellas could come right back into the top spots.

About a year ago, I wrote an article outlining 10 former midcarders who could return to WWE as main eventers in 2015. Of those ten, a grand total of zero returned to WWE and ascended to the top of the card. Bully Ray did come back 'home', and was in one or two main event matches on Raw and Smackdown, so I'd call that a win (even though it was as a member of the Dudleys and not as Bully). Anyway, like WWE I go on refusing to learn from my mistakes and have decided to evaluate the landscape once more and see which former midcarders could return next year in a featured role. They may not be sure-fire WrestleMania main eventers, but given the company's current injury concerns and their shambolic star-making efforts, these are experienced hands who could saunter in to fill in the gaps or, perhaps, do much more. These eight men (I didn't want to crib extensively from the previous list so have devised new entries) have all been released or left WWE in the past couple of years and, for the most part, they have went on to show WWE just what they missed while they were under their employ.
