8 Great WWE Stars With Bad WrestleMania Resumes

6. Goldust

The Bizarre One has a perfectly poor 0-5 WrestleMania record. The veteran's matches (or non-matches, as it were) are also decidedly sketchy.

Goldust's 'Mania bow came at WrestleMania XII in the very odd and deeply unsettling Hollywood Backlot Brawl with Roddy Piper. Scott Hall was originally meant to work with Goldy on the show but when he signed with WCW - and tested positive for marijuana - he was taken off the show and replaced by/with WWE's then-commissioner.

The two fought in a brawl that had been pre-taped on a Hollywood soundstage, before Goldust took off in a white Ford Bronco, given WWE an opportunity to riff on the OJ Simpson high speed chase that had happened about a year ago. Finger's always on the pulse, eh Vince? Once back in the arena, Roddy battered the androgynous Goldust senseless, stripped him of his ring gear to reveal lingerie underneath and then simply left the arena. It was all very weird.

The next year was a little less offensive but altogether more boring, as Goldust fought Triple H in a deathly dull outing. WrestleMania XIV wasn't much better, as Goldust and Marc Mero's thunder was well and truly stolen by their seconds, Sable and Luna (but especially Sable). At WrestleMania XV in 1999, Goldust had a sloppy and disappointing IC Title match alongside Val Venis, Ken Shamrock and Road Dogg.

He would leave WWE soon after but came back into the fold in January of 2002. He'd get a WrestleMania payday that year, working opposite Tough Enough winner Maven in a Hardcore Title match. That was his last WrestleMania main card appearance as since then he's been demoted to dark match/pre-show duty.

Goldust's 'Mania career is as odd and inconsistent as the character itself.
