8 Horribly Outdated Wrestling Acts

7. The Ascension

When it comes to tag teams these days, it seems that WWE puts about 30 seconds worth of thought into what they should do with them.

The Hype Bros? Um...they'll just run around and yell A LOT! The Shining Stars? Get this, they don't just like, Puerto Rico, they LOVE IT! The Ascension? Well, they aren't as big or as talented as Demolition or The Road Warriors, but slap some face paint on them and call it a day!

Poor Viktor and Konnor were tearing it up in NXT, but as soon as they joined the main roster, they were carbon copies of famous, better teams of the past. Since that time, they haven't been given any opportunities to prove otherwise. When they are on TV, they lose in short order and are positioned as less threatening than if Gillberg and Barry Horowitz had formed a team together.

It may be best simply to get these two away from each other, but if they are going to continue on the same side, they need some character development, or a new gimmick, fast.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
