WWE surprised audiences by volunteering what many considered a WrestleMania-level dream match as the main event of their throwaway July pay-per-view, but the build between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe has been no less scintillating.

Largely protected since his January debut, the 'Samoan Submission Machine' has been positioned as a trained assassin in nearly all of his matches, and hasn't thus far had to exhibit the fear or vulnerability that occasionally appeared in NXT.

Such dauntlessness has been vital in this programme, considering his opposition. Though willing to fight Lesnar, Joe has been vindictive in his attacks, going through the terrified advocate Paul Heyman or jumping 'The Beast' from behind with the devastating Coquina Clutch.

It won't be a short night for the titleholder. Barely totalling twenty minutes of cumulative ring-time in 2017, Brock's had a remarkable campaign in his brief appearances nonetheless, but this contest should represent the first grisly war he's had to wage in some time.

Lesnar is sure to win, with a run of opponents stretching to WrestleMania should WWE see fit, but for a change, he;ll have to suffer for his art. Expect Joe to chase the clutch at all costs, but for Brock to ultimately avoid it. A thunderous F5 (or three) should down the challenger after an exhausting affair.
