A Different Angle

Hats off to WWE for promoting the annual TLC supercard by somehow managing to preserve the chaos and carnage for just one match.

The stellar main event pitting The Miz, The Bar, Braun Strowman and Kane against The Shield will b...

STOP EVERYTHING!

The breaking news you just read was actually true.

Sadly for your writer, the planned two paragraphs discussing the return of the iconic triumvirate are now forever confined to the cutting room floor. B*lls to that though! A whopping late-Friday announcement from WWE confirmed that KURT ANGLE would be replacing ROMAN REIGNS in the main event. All caps for big chaps.

And that's not all. As well as 'The Big Dog' going walkies, 'The Eater Of Worlds' is also out to lunch, as Sister Abigail will no longer meander down to ringside to take on Finn Balor. Not only will that rob you of takes hot enough to set fire to your clothes with in this very article, it'll also delay the chance to marvel at whatever madcap nonsense they had in store for bonkers Bray.

Instead, Balor will take on fellow Bullet Club alumnus AJ Styles in a maiden WWE meeting for the pair. It naturally got a bit lost under the hype of the Angle announcement, but was a harsh reminder that Bray Wyatt is now so f*cked that even an announcement of him not wrestling has potential to be overshadowed.

8. Crazy Like A Fox

Alicia Fox was once so insane she used to tip fizzy drinks over herself. Mad. Absolutely barmy, this one. Yes, it was that one dimensional at the time, and has been again as the company have again asked the long-tenured Fox to dial up her screeching under the guise of being 'crazy'.

Last aired during a natural disaster of a 205 Live storyline earlier this year that damaged everybody it blew through (including 'The Boss' herself), Alicia's inner lunatic burst out again after twice falling foul of Sasha Banks on Monday Night Raw.

A powerful backstage beatdown that followed might have been good enough without the damaging contests that preceded it. The match-to-build-a-match philosophy is becoming increasingly more damaging to excitement levels for tacked-on efforts such as these, not least when skill levels between the combatants sit at polar opposite ends of the spectrum.

An odd aside to her re-emergence has been the release of her first ever t-shirt, ten years after she joined the company. It's an ugly rendering of a sexualised animal, with obnoxious writing splashed all over it, but it does at least bring an unwanted record of management disinterest to an end. She'll likely win here too, if only to prepare for an upcoming mauling from the division's newest star.
