8 Indie Wrestlers Who Could Be The Next Daniel Bryan
2. Kyle O'Reilly
Maybe it is just me, but I see a lot of similarities between Kyle O'Reilly and Daniel Bryan. Adam Cole's former tag team partner turned blood rival is without doubt one of the hottest properties outside of WWE today and a lot of that comes down to the attributes he shares with our beloved American Dragon. Only 28 years of age, the Canadian is a fantastic technician within the ring. He combines that with an intensity that makes everything he does believable, all at a similar speed to Bryan. O'Reilly works hard, does what he is asked to do and as such has a fine reputation behind the scenes, similar to Daniel Bryan. Kyle O'Reilly is as efficient a professional wrestler as one could hope to find today. Somehow he has managed to put together a moveset that indie fans love, but can believably translate onto the bigger stage too. There is little in the way of wasted movement, a clear purpose behind what he does. O'Reilly also shares that intangible that Daniel Bryan had, a knack for making big moments bigger and small moments memorable. More so than any North American wrestler on this list, Kyle O'Reilly is poised to fill Daniel Bryan's daunting boots.
Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
