8 Legendary Tales Of Badassery From Steve Austin And Ric Flair

6. Mr. Wonderful Clashes With Mr. USA

Two of the most impressive physiques to ever grace the squared circle belonged to Tony Atlas and €œMr. Wonderful€ Paul Ordnorff. Atlas was a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter before he transitioned into the pro wrestling ranks, and his ring name of €œMr. USA€ was earned three times over. Orndorff was another hard-nosed guy with a rep for taking no sh*t and a road trip between the two culminated in a brawl along the side of the highway between the two hosses. Allegedly the fight broke out because Atlas refused to shift his seat forward to give Paul more legroom, and the two men started jawing back and forth with each other. The story goes that, in the midst of the scuffle, Paul bit off a piece of Tony's ear. Orndorff€™s account of the story is that he €œwhipped Tony€™s ass€ and sent him to the hospital, and from the way other wrestlers speak about him, that€™s not hard to believe. This leads Flair and Austin into another classic story involving Mr. Wonderful... As a funny side note, promoter/tyrant Bill Watts fined Tony Atlas for being unable to work a show due to having to receive medical treatment.
