Did you know the former Mascara Dorada, an incredibly decorated CMLL star, is signed to WWE? WWE don’t appear to know, as ever since his Cruiserweight Classic finals loss to TJ Perkins, Gran Metalik has done precisely nothing. One of the most gifted lucha libre specialists in the world today, the King of the Ropes could definitely use a change of scenery from Main Event or the catering table.
With fellow CMLL alum Andrade Cien Almas languishing on NXT, Metalik could be brought in as the new Latin face of the brand, and unlike Almas, his gimmick wouldn’t die on arrival. Plus, if he was paired in matches with Almas, NXT fans could get a taste of actual factual lucha libre, and given that NXT is usually more diverse in style than the main roster, it’s safe to bet Hunter would be all for that.
