8 Major WWE Superstars That Hated CM Punk

5. Vince McMahon

When Punk first left the company, we saw plenty of reports that the McMahon family was torn on how to feel and how to react. Initially, the reports said that Stephanie McMahon and Triple H both wanted no part of Punk making any sort of return, with the thought being "you left us, so we don't need you". Those same reports said that Vince McMahon was the only person who wanted Punk back, and that he was actively trying to get him to make a return at some point. That all made sense with other reports that Vince often takes a fatherly approach to things, and looks at many of his wrestlers like sons. When a father and son have some issues and squabbles, it's only natural for the father to try and mend fences. The next set of reports said that Vince had been trying, on multiple occasions, to reach out to Punk, to no avail. Vince was supposedly willing to work out a deal with Punk, allowing him to take time off, giving his body some more time to rest and recover. As time went on, more and more reports kept coming out, and now, they were saying that even Vince had seemed to give up. Punk pretty much became persona non grata on WWE programming. "C-M Punk" chants weren't acknowledged on television, Punk merchandise was practically given away for free at WWEShop.com, a post-it note was placed over Punk's face during a documentary for The Ultimate Warrior on the WWE Network, and damn near all mentions of him on WWE.com were eliminated. Who gets the final call on all of those things? Vince McMahon. As we've seen in the past, Vince can be a very vindictive man when he is upset, and this seems to be one of those times. There's no way Vince would appreciate someone not wanting to perform for him, especially when it seems that person is so happy sitting at home. It's a bruise to a man like Vince's ego.
