5. Braun Strowman Vs. Elias

Both a waste of time and a boring way to spend it, perhaps that's harsh.

Come on guys: Shane McMahon Vs. Braun Strowman is way too important and must-see to burn through at Fastlane!

With a highly anticipated feature match to build, WWE executed a classic bait-and-switch. Shane McMahon suffered an injury in the warm-up, recycling a staple from the days of yore - Royal Rumble 2021 - and positioned Elias as his replacement. This was a big brain move from Shane, who yet again outsmarted Strowman in this interminable programme.

This glorified squash was a nothing match and it didn't even function to get Strowman over as this mightily-pissed-off destructive force. He took an elbow drop in a curious layout that half-threatened to go 50/50 before it ended unceremoniously.

Jesus Christ, man.

Fury.

Vengeance.

Three count in seconds.

Put across the idea that Shane has f*cked with the wrong man. Don't put across the idea that he might get an opening. That way, when he actually does create an opening next month, it might create this sensation called "drama" that WWE seems to have forgotten about entirely.
