8 Matches That Should Have Headlined WrestleMania (If WWE Had Listened To The Fans)

The Undertaker vs. John Cena has never seemed more plausible as a WrestleMania match than this year. At the turn of the year, neither man seemed to have anything set in stone for the Show of Shows, and the fact that 'Taker is coming very close to the end of his wrestling career meant that it truly felt as though WrestleMania 33 was to represent a now or never moment for The Undertaker vs. John Cena.

It now seems as though fans will have to get used to that being 'never'.

John Cena will team with his girlfriend in a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 33. The Undertaker will find himself going into a WrestleMania match as the underdog for the first time in over 20 years as he takes on Roman Reigns. Both matches will be fine, but the feeling of what could have been isn't going to go away any time soon.

Throughout its history WWE has been keenly aware of what its fans want to see, yet for reasons that aren't entirely clear have decided to ignore them completely. When Roman Reigns hits The Undertaker with that third spear in Orlando on April 2, take a moment to sit back and think about how much more enjoyable WrestleMania 33 would have been if it was an AA that was putting The Deadman down for his final WrestleMania three count.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
