8 Minor Changes That Would Make A Major Difference To WWE Survivor Series 2017
6. Alicia Out, Mickie In
The women’s 5-on-5 traditional elimination match is a peculiar one. Alicia Fox has somehow found herself as the captain of Team RAW, and is scheduled to lead Asuka, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Nia Jax into battle. Fox is actually the longest-tenured female performer in WWE, but she has been a non-entity for most of that time.
Is the former wedding planner on the verge of a push of a lifetime? Of course not. Her insertion into this match is jarring at best. The captain’s armband is largely superfluous, but there seems little point to having Fox in the match outside of a couple of wacky moments in the build up.
Mickie James has gone from challenging Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship at WWE TLC to being off the Survivor Series card entirely. Mickie is one of the most underrated performers in the company, and her experience could have been vital in holding the moving parts together an inherently chaotic match such as this.
