8 MMA Fighters Who Failed In Pro Wrestling
4. Tito Ortiz
Tito Ortiz is one of the undisputed legends of mixed martial arts. The Huntington Beach Bad Boy was one of the first fighters in the west to realise the importance of cultivating a persona to help build interest in fights, and his feud with UFC president Dana White is the closest MMA has come to replicating the rivalry between Steve Austin and Vince McMahon.
However, one thing that Ortiz has proven repeatedly throughout his career is that he's not exactly a wordsmith. Sure, he got the better of Ken Shamrock verbally, but that was likely more to do with Shamrock's frustrations over Ortiz's successes in their fights rather than any particularly stinging barbs.
With that being said, it's not surprising that Tito's forays into professional wrestling haven't exactly been unqualified successes. The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion first appeared in TNA in 2005, but would enjoy a longer run with the company in 2013 as a member of Aces & Eights embarking on a feud with Rampage Jackson that served to promote their bout in Bellator that ultimately did not take place.
