8 Most Devastating Current WWE Superstar Injuries

5. Tyson Kidd

Perpetual lower-midcarder and company workhorse Tyson Kidd suffered a spinal injury in a match with Samoa Joe that put him on the shelf for a very long time. While that injury has been deemed a freak accident, it’s hardly heart-warming news for the Canadian grappler, who might be on the shelf for more than a year recovering.

As with the Usos, Kidd’s injury has not only derailed his career, but it has also prevented Cesaro from pursuing a singles career of his own. Cesaro has long been one of the most underrated performers on the WWE roster, as has Tyson Kidd. It seemed as the duo were on the right track when they were put together as a tag team, and they even enjoyed a reign as WWE Tag Team Champions, short as it was.

Despite being one of the smaller wrestlers on the roster, Kidd was also one of the most versatile. He was able to perform springboard moves like a cruiserweight, he could use power moves quite well, and he was a very good submission wrestler, which, given his family ties, shouldn’t be a surprise.

This isn’t Kidd’s first major injury, as he spent many months recovering from a torn knee meniscus in 2013. During this period, Kidd managed to stay in the fans’ minds by appearing alongside his wife Natalya on ‘Total Divas’. Hopefully these injuries don’t lead to a de-push, or worse, him getting released, because both of those things have happened in the past.
