4. Revisiting The Shield

The double powerbomb from Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to Brock Lesnar during the main event had fans thinking about The Shield, and rightfully so. The spot, which resulted in The Beast Incarnate crashing through the announce table, was a trademark of The Hounds of Justice throughout their near two-year run with WWE. Every major star from The Undertaker to The Rock to John Cena experienced the tremendous high, followed by the extreme pain of the landing. Seth Rollins will return to action later this year, presumably as a babyface. Fans have to wonder if the references to The Shield by commentators Michael Cole, JBL and Byron Saxton, coupled with the powerbomb itself, is a not-so-subtle hint at a possible reunion of the greatest faction of the last 10 years. This is a road WWE should not go down. All three Superstars are still trying to establish themselves as singles competitors, particularly Reigns, and bringing them back together would cut off any progress they have made to that point. In fact, it would behoove them all if they stopped making references to The Shield all together so fans stop remembering that era so fondly and start caring about the guys on their own.
