8 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Feb 17)

In which John Cena getting cleanly pinned twice in three days is just the start of it...

This week saw one of the most insane photographs you're ever likely to see posted to Twitter.

As a result of their Irish ancestry and Linda's new role leading the Small Business Administration, the McMahon family were permitted to pay a visit to the White House and the POTUS himself.

The universally loathed, condescending, counterproductive, orange, clueless figure of authority was joined in the Oval Office by Donald Trump, her husband Triple H and the rest of the McMahon clan, complete with a picture of Vince McMahon being shaved bald at WrestleMania 23. Bobby Lashley was curiously out of shot. Trips was captured, unflatteringly, with his eyes closed. Rumour has it that the photographer has since been demoted to Superstars.

In fairness, Linda, who in partnership with her husband destroyed considerably more small businesses than she developed, is substantially more qualified for her position than the Donald.

It's a bit of a running theme this week, figures spectacularly ill-suited for the roles with which they occupy. One such figure, much like Donald himself, is about the only person who thinks they are even a fraction as good as they they actually are at it...

8. Emmalina Debuts! (And Then Just As Quickly Departs)

On this week's episode of RAW, it finally happened.

Since October 3, WWE had hyped the arrival of Emmalina - a groundbreaking character repackage which would see the already fairly glamorous Emmalina became a little bit more glamorous. And there she was - "was" being the operative word.

She "premiered" onstage with new, twinkly entrance music, adorned in an expensive-looking, sequinned ball gown, looking every bit as enchanting as a Bond girl. Hey, perhaps it was a rib at the expense of her Walmart shenanigans all along. She then addressed the WWE Universe: "For seventeen weeks, you have waited for the makeover from Emma to Emmalina. Well, here I am," she feigned, before exposing the baffling ruse. "And now, now you'll see the makeover from Emmalina to Emma. Thank you." She then exited the stage, presumably to never be seen or heard from again.

Her premiere had been teased out for four months. The pictures of said makeover were very raunchy, by WWE standards. Her neckline plunged to such an extent that most wouldn't have expected to last twenty seconds when she finally came - but it was Emmalina whose performance was premature.

The whole dispiriting and utter pointless ordeal was enough to make you cry. At least the kleenex was already in short reach.
