8 Most Pointless WWE PPV Matches Of 2017 (So Far)

7. Nikki Bella Vs. Natalya (Elimination Chamber)

Natalya did a great job of being a bitch in the lead up to her Elimination Chamber battle with former friend Nikki Bella. The promos were strong before that pay-per-view, but the same can't be said of the match itself. Quite why WWE booked a double count out during this grudge match is anyone's guess.

The end goal here seemed to be finishing the feud on SmackDown. Isn't that what pay-per-view supercards are for? Y'know, to blow off big rivalries and feature satisfying conclusions to the best stories? Elimination Chamber didn't get that, and as a result the entire issue between Natalya and Bella lost a lot of steam when it should have been red hot.

On the 21 February SmackDown, WWE booked the match that the Chamber show needed. Natalya won a Falls Count Anywhere encounter before the feud was quickly dropped, presumably because John Cena was set to propose to Nikki at WrestleMania and WWE realised they had to switch gears.

Way to crap all over one of your most compelling storylines.
