8 Most Polarizing Wrestlers Working Today

One man's heel is another man's babyface.

Before social media became the phenomenon it is today it was easy to tell which wrestler's were popular with the fans and which weren't. Crowds cheered the wrestlers they liked and booed the ones they didn't. Now, thanks to anyone with an internet connection being able to instantly broadcast their opinions to the world, the lines have become blurred.

If you follow wrestling on twitter it seems damn near every wrestler is simultaneously under/over-rated and the greatest/worst thing to ever happen to the business. Obviously a lot of these comments are hyperbole, but it doesn't change the fact that there are some wrestlers who elicit particularly polarizing reactions from the pro wrestling community.

To that end, we have chosen who we believe to be the eight most divisive wrestlers in the business today. As the title suggests only currently active wrestlers were eligible for the list, so no appearances from Hulk Hogan, HHH, HBK or any other wrestler whose name contains a capital 'H'.

If there's anyone you feel we missed please let us know in the comments below and, in the spirit of the article, feel free to tell us if this was the Greatest List Ever or Minus Five Stars.

8. Bray Wyatt

The line between genius and madness is a thin one. Such is the case for Bray Wyatt who, depending on who you ask, is either the most inventive mind the WWE has ever seen or a gimmicky goof who puts on terrible matches.

After unveiling the Firefly Fun House and the Fiend to near universal acclaim last year, segments of the wrestling community have begun to turn on the former Husky Harris. His disastrous match agains Seth Rollins at Hell in the Cell didn't help matters, and his nonsensical feud with the Miz and disappointing Universal Title reign had some wrestling fans declaring the character washed up less than a year after he debuted.

To counter these claims, one could (as is so often the case) point out that the above problems are indictments of WWE's booking team and not the man himself. When Wyatt has crafted his own material for the character, such as in the opening 8 Firefly Fun House vignettes and the Fun House match against John Cena, the results have received near unanimous approval.

Bray Wyatt is undoubtedly one of the most unique minds in the history of wrestling, but whether he's a Fiend or a Fool is a matter of personal opinion.
