8 Most Shocking UFC Plans That Almost Happened

4. Joe Rogan Vs. Wesley Snipes

One of the most recognisable figures associated with MMA, Joe Rogan has served in a variety of roles working for the UFC since his debut back in 1997 at UFC 12.

However, one of the few things the former kickboxer hasn't done for the company is actually getting in the cage and have a fight.

But that nearly wasn't the case...

The story goes that Blade actor Wesley Snipes' people had tried to get him a fight in the UFC against Jean Claude Van Damme, but the UFC brass thought that a bout with Rogan would prove to be a bigger draw.

Upon the idea being passed on to him, Rogan later explained on an episode of his podcast that he was more than happy to take the fight, knowing that Snipes hadn't trained in any form of grappling, and had no competitive martial arts experience.

In the end, according to Rogan, the fight was only planned because of Snipes' monetary troubles with the IRS and that, ultimately, Snipes decided against taking the fight.

Probably a wise decision, as anyone who has seen Rogan's kicking videos can attest.
