Women's wrestling is on the cusp of a long-overdue change in WWE, with female superstars given three-dimensional personalities and consistent motives (on NXT, largely). However, there's no hiding the fact that, over the years, women in WWE have often been portrayed as sneaky, manipulative, and downright evil. As a general rule of thumb, if a good-natured babyface aligns himself with a diva, he'll be betrayed before long. As uncomfortable as many of these storylines may be to look back upon, there's no denying that women have been the cause of some very memorable heel angles throughout the company's history. From Sensational Sherri to AJ Lee, by way of Trish Stratus and Lita, WWE's divas have been at the heart of trouble for decades. Some storylines have been good, others terrible, but they all have one thing in common: Vince McMahon's most devious femme fatales.
8. Eve Torres Uses Poor Zack Ryder
If you didn't know the figures involved in this angle, you might guess it was from the 80s, or the car-crash days of the Attitude Era. It certainly doesn't seem like the sort of storyline that would be given much time in our current decade - but it was. For what felt like an eternity, the Eve Torres/Zack Ryder/John Cena love triangle dominated Raw, coinciding with a pre-existing angle with Kane (which was hardly setting the world on fire in the first place). In January 2012, Eve began an onscreen relationship with Ryder, dragging her into Zack's feud with the Big Red Machine. Ryder's ally, and all-around good guy John Cena, saved Eve from Kane's attempted abduction, leading to a kiss between the pair (which Cena very much reciprocated). The camera then slowly panned to a recently wheelchair-bound Ryder - who was on the scene for no apparent reason - brandishing flowers and a heartbroken expression. The fallout was...ugly, to say the least. Eve was portrayed as the sole villain in the whole thing, while Cena was absolved of all blame. The diva's official heel turn came when she was caught blatantly confessing her devious ways to the Bella twins, explaining that she was only using Zack (and Cena) for attention. Big Match John - the biggest babyface in the entire wrestling world, remember - then publicly scorned her in the ring while she begged for forgiveness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOg7P3QM3nI
