8 Movie Characters That Should Be WWE Gimmicks

3. Bronson - Bronson

I know, I know € Bronson is an actual person and not a movie character. But hey, a movie was made about him and his story is absolutely fascinating. I doubt I would be doing this list justice if I didn€™t include him at some point on the list. Bronson, real name Michael Gordon Peterson, has been dubbed the most violent prisoner to grace the cells of Her Majesty€™s Prison Service. After being originally put in prison for theft in the 1970s, Bronson would continue to add onto his prison sentence by organizing prison riots, protests, fighting with inmates, fighting with prison guards, and just being an overall thorn in the side to any lawful authority.

His brief time outside of prison was spent fighting in underground bare knuckle boxing matches, where he took on the name Charles Bronson after the actor from the Death Wish movie franchise. At this point he resides in solitary confinement where he is least apt to be such a €œproblem prisoner.€ Tom Hardy played the role of Bronson quite brilliantly in the 2008 film.

Why It Should Be a Gimmick: He€™s crazy

Plain and simple, the ideals of Bronson would make for a fantastic gimmick because he€™s absolutely insane in all the right kinds of ways. He hates authority figures, but he doesn€™t hate them to the point of despising what they stand for, he just likes to play the game of challenging the boundaries set in front of him. Bronson seeks confrontation and he relishes the idea of acting out in whatever way necessary to break the norm. To pattern a wrestler after Bronson€™s characteristics would be to reincarnate the character of the late Brian Pillman. It€™s hard to find a character that is more believable as a fighter than one who has no regard for himself and no respect for anyone that stands before him. When a character will do whatever it takes to provoke a fight and then follow that by doing whatever it takes to win, that€™s a character that can garner the attention of an audience.
