8 Movie Characters That Should Be WWE Gimmicks

2. Vega - Street Fighter

Vega

Yeah, Vega is a video game character, but you can€™t look at it that way. Vega is a character in a movie that is adapted from the Street Fighter game which stars Jean Claude Van Damme as the lead character of Guile. As we all know, anything Van Damme does comes first in life, period. Sudden Death comes before Jaromir Jagr, Timecop comes before time travel, and Street Fighter the movie comes before Street Fighter the video game. It is just the facts of life. Street Fighter doesn€™t really need much explanation here for the story of the movie itself. Good guy fighters go to battle with bad guy fighters because the fate of the world depends on it. Good talk, see ya out there, boys!

Why It Should Be a Gimmick: He Covets

Vega is a fighter who prides himself on good looks. He€™s a narcissist that enjoys the adoration that he receives for his appearance and will do whatever it takes to maintain that. Of course, the big question with a character like this is why bother fighting if you could get your face smashed in? The reason: When you believe you€™re that much better than anyone else, but you€™re also incredibly insecure about that belief and need constant affirmation of it, then you need to put yourself into situations where you came out as the superior individual. Thus, Vega covets the superficial. He covets his face, his covets victories, and he covets titles. Titles, mind you, are immensely populated in the world of professional wrestling.

The character of Vega would be absolutely seamless in a pro wrestling setting. For example, Vega has a unique trait where he fights with a mask on so that he can protect his face from physical damage. When he does experience the odd scuff or blemish, he snaps into a blood lust that is never quite satisfied. There€™s aggression and self-hatred flowing through his veins, which can be utilized in a number of ways in an angle or program. Dynamic characters are always the most adaptable characters for any setting. Plus, can you imagine the killing that would be made on selling those masks? Vega would never see a downside guarantee in his life.
