Hey, it's weird enough that Sheamus actually
is going to be Rocksteady in the upcoming TMNT sequel, but can you imagine how strange it would have been to see CM Punk in that role? The very idea of CM Punk in a Ninja Turtles film probably caused a giant implosion somewhere in the universe. Punk auditioned for the role, but was turned down in favor of his one-time nemesis, The Irish Curse. Punk believes it was his stature, not his acting chops, that cost him the job.
I just assumed Sheamus is a bigger dude, so they gave it to the big guy. It makes sense. They were looking for two big, muscly bouncer types. Sheamus fits the role."
And he might be just a little bitter over it, too, as evidenced by his decision to include a possible spoiler about Sheamus' fate in the film.
"I think they end up getting mutated half way through. You didnt hear that from me, though.
Sure, Sheamus probably fits the bill physically a bit better than the Chicagoan, but there's little doubt that Punk's personality would have made the Rocksteady/Turtles dynamic a weirdly wonderful sight to behold.
