1. The Rock - Johnny Bravo
Once The Rock's movie career got rolling--after proving himself a more capable actor than many originally thought--rumors started swirling that Johnson would follow up his role in The Scorpion King with a live-action reimagining of the Cartoon Network hit series Johnny Bravo. It was reported by Variety back in 2002 that Warner Bros had acquired the property, and the producers strongly hinted that Dwayne Johnson was their main target for the titular role. In fact, not only was The Rock a big fan of Johnny Bravo, but it was his enthusiasm over the character that
caused the studio to option it from Cartoon Network in the first place. According to producer Marty Adelstein:
When the Rock mentioned to Neal (Moritz) and myself he was a big fan of Johnny Bravo and thought it was a great idea for a movie, we thought it was a natural fit and potentially a great role for him to play, so we went aggressively after the property.
For some reason, the project fizzled out, possibly because Johnson was working on several other movies at the time. You have to believe, if given the choice again, he'd trade that lukewarm Walking Tall remake for a chance at playing Johnny Bravo.
