Former EVOLVE and AIW referee and certified "good human being" Jake Clemons played a crooked official on the 24 February episode of Raw, giving Randy Orton a fast count victory in 'The Viper's' main event with Kevin Owens. This was part of KO's wider feud with Seth Rollins, as Plemons' stripes were opened to reveal a 'Monday Night Messiah' t-shirt below, leading to Jake going through a table for his troubles.

Clemons was a particularly popular figure in the Ohio-based AIW, where he worked for most of the past decade, earning a warm sendoff in his final show on 6 September.
