8 NXT Wrestlers Too Good To Fail On WWE's Main Roster
3. Matt Riddle
The former UFC welterweight is one of the most affable professional wrestlers on the planet. On the indies, his every entrance was greeted by fervent chants of "BRO! BRO! BRO!", as the man himself cruised out to the impossible smooth sounds of Warren G & Nate Dogg's "Regulate," his grin wider than the Cheshire Cat's.
It's this laid-back cool that makes Riddle such an easy guy to root for, but his prodigious in-ring talents certainly help too. 'The King Of Bros' demonstrated a natural aptitude for pro-wrestling from day one. Weeks into his career, he was performing at a level that usually takes years to achieve, and his work under Gabe Sapolsky's WWN wing placed him at the forefront of the modern US indie movement. Now, he's one of the most adaptable wrestlers around. A sense of sameness crept into his work in 2017, with an over-reliance on no-sell spots blighting many a match, but he has grown immensely as an in-ring storyteller while regularly leaning on his MMA background as a stylistic base.
Riddle is the real deal. If he fails on the main roster, there's no hope for anyone.
