8 Obscure Movie And TV Roles You Never Knew The Rock Had

5. Rocky Johnson - That €™70s Show (1999)

In perhaps the best use of The Rock in any of his many cameo appearances, That '70s Show (a sitcom set in the, er, 1970s) saw the wrestler pay his own father, Rocky Johnson. While this exchange more than likely went right over the heads of non-wrestling fans - it was pretty obvious he was supposed to be playing his father, but not everyone would know about Rocky Johnson - it was a surprisingly funny moment which nicely showed off some of the wrestler's comedic chops before his appearance on Saturday Night Live the next year. It was all a bit meta as "Rocky" talked about hoping his son would one day become "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment", and more heavy handed than clever! Even so, it was good fun overall, and that's all a cameo really needs to be sometimes!
