8 One-Time WWE Champions Who Deserved A Second Reign
These guys really should have gotten another chance to hold the top strap.
Just how important are World Championships in wrestling? There are a couple of schools of thought regarding this, with some believing that they are merely props in the show and that too much stock shouldn't be put into them. After all, you don't really win championships, you are assigned to win and they are given to you. But you still have to work exceptionally hard to get into a position where you would be considered for a World Title reign (most of the time). The saying 'if you don't want to be World Champion, then you shouldn't be in the company' is a phrase oft-repeated by WWE superstars. This is true, to a point. After all, it is still the top prize, something that most wrestlers dream about attaining one day. Being World Champion signifies your status as being at the top of the industry, the very best in the business and the man whom the product should revolve around. Once you reach that World Championship plateau, the odds of having another two or three reigns are in your favour. Most champions hold the belt multiple times, since there are only a select few wrestlers who can compete at the very top level. Yet some of the industry's most talented performers were only given a single run as World Champion. What went wrong? Did they tank in the role or did some other factor lead to them being recognised as one-time champions? Whatever the case, these eight men deserved another chance to hold the top strap.
